There's a new law in California that gives kinfluencers the right to be forgotten, and it could impact adults too. 00:36 And an attack on Russian data centers started a rumor that all the evil disinformation bots had been deleted from the internet. But the truth might actually be a lot scarier. 00:47 For our take, join me, Jess Maddox. 00:50 And me, Thomas Germain, for The Interface. 00:52 Listen on BBC.com or wherever you get your podcasts. 00:58 You're listening to The Archers Omnibus from BBC Radio 4. 01:21 Yeah. 01:23 OK. OK, Pip, I think you're done. Yeah? Yep. Oh, thanks, Chelsea. Oh, I love it. 01:28 Oh, you look so lovely. Oh, just, oh, wait, hang on a sec. I'm just going to use a tiny bit more hairspray. Hang on a sec. Oh, what did I do with it? It's just with this weather, you know. 01:40 Oh, yeah, yeah, totally. I need hair that can withstand a hurricane. Exactly, yeah. 01:44 Oh, did you know that when they asked Dolly Parton how long it took her to do her hair, she said, I don't know, because I'm never there, because, you know, it was, like, always a wig. Oh, I love that. Yeah, yeah, me too. 01:56 I was so sad when she died. 01:58 The whole world seemed sad when she died. 02:00 Yeah, I know, I know, totally, but... 02:03 I do think me and Dolly would have really got on. Oh, yeah, I can see that. 02:06 Now, what have I done with the hairspray? 02:08 Rosie's probably nicked it. 02:10 Jeez, Louise, the forecast was not exaggerated. 02:13 Yeah. 02:14 Who'd choose a day like today to get married, eh? 02:17 Me and you? 02:17 Yup. 02:18 I mean, it's going to be memorable. Oh, you'd hope it would be memorable anyway. Well, for us, yeah, but for everyone else, too. Ah, found it! Found what? 02:25 The hairspray. Right, now, just shield your eyes, Pip. Yep, yep, yep. Yep. 02:33 That's it. Yeah, perfect. Thanks. 02:36 You know, I've never worn hairspray in my entire life. What, seriously? Yeah, and I'll probably never wear it again. Oh, you'd better make the most of it then. Do you two not want to spend your last night apart? We thought about it, didn't we? But it just seemed really silly. 02:49 You weren't worried about the bad luck? I think the bad luck is the weather. 02:53 And we can cope with that. 02:55 OK, I think it's time to rock and roll. 03:01 I don't know why I said that, sorry. 03:03 Your mum and dad are here. OK. Oh, you look so beautiful, by the way. I could cry. 03:12 So do you, and so could I. Oh, please don't start crying, either of you. 03:16 That make-up is resilient, but it's chucking it down, so let's not push it, all right? 03:20 OK, OK. 03:21 Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin an emotional moment. 03:24 No, you didn't, you didn't. 03:26 Stella, your carriage awaits at... 03:29 Oh, wow. Wow. Hi, Dad. You both look so beautiful. Oh, thanks, Dad. Thank you, David. Honestly, I could cry. 03:37 OK, you're allowed to cry because you're not wearing make-up. 03:40 Right, OK, well, that's good to know. Thanks, Chelsea. You're welcome. Ready to go? 03:45 How bad is it out there? 03:46 Horrendous. Chelsea, you're coming with us, right? 03:49 Yeah, please. Where's Rosie gone? 03:51 She just jumped in the car. 03:53 Oh, OK. Good. And where's the giant umbrella? I put it by the door. 03:56 It might just blow inside out. 03:58 Let's see. I am very excited to see our transport. 04:05 Ta-da! Oh, the tractor! Covered in fairy lights. And complete with the front loader. It's amazing! 04:15 Freddie and Rosie really, really cleaned it, just so you know. 04:18 Rosie helped. 04:19 Really helped. 04:20 Oh, that's so lovely. It looks wonderful. 04:23 I think it looks pretty good, yeah. 04:25 Rosie wants to know if you like it. But she won't come out of the car, eh? She's not stupid. 04:30 Tell her we love it. OK, you'd better climb in. 04:34 Come on! Yeah, I've got to think of my hair. Well, exactly. It's all about the hair. Are you driving, Stella? 04:39 Yes, please. It's going to be a squish. 04:42 Give us your umbrella. 04:43 Okay, go. 04:47 Come on, go. Get in. Okay, baby, get me to the church on time. Yeah, we're going to go quite slow in this. Good job it's not too far. Are you in? 04:56 Yeah, I'm in. 04:57 Bye. 04:58 See you there. Bye. Bye. 05:04 I don't like it. 05:05 I don't like it, this weather. I'm sure no-one likes it, Eddie. What if something happens? Well, we've done our best to batten down the hatches, haven't we? Yes, but... We're going to be late at this rate. 05:17 Oh, everyone will understand. 05:19 Let's hope so. 05:20 Of course they will. These things never start on time any road. 05:24 Eddie, stop the fan. Bye. 05:27 Have you seen the pole barn? No. What's the matter with you? It looks like a bit of the roof's coming off. What? 05:34 We'd better check, can't we? Check the turkeys are all right. I thought you were worried about being late. I am, but we can't abandon the turkeys, can we? 05:46 I can't promise you that nothing bad will ever happen to us. 05:51 I mean, listen to what's going on outside right now. But whatever happens, we will weather it and I can promise you that I will do my very best to protect you from the worst of the storms that life throws at us. 06:14 to look after you and your lovely girl Rosie as best as I possibly can to support you and adore you because my ultimate goal is to give you the happiest of lives because you're my universe Pip and I couldn't love you more and I cannot wait to be your wife 06:43 Thank you, Stella. Now over to you, Pip. Oh, thanks. Sorry. 06:50 God, I'm nervous. Stella just made me cry. Sorry. No, it's OK. Oh, that was so beautiful. 07:00 Stella. 07:02 Oh, Stella. 07:06 My life is so much better and so much more interesting because of you. 07:13 You inspire me. 07:16 You challenge me. 07:18 but you ground me too. You keep me on the straight and narrow, even though you're not straight. It turns out neither am I. 07:26 You were my friend and then my girlfriend. And in a few minutes, you'll be my wife. 07:34 Meeting you was, meeting you. 07:40 It's like coming home, and I promise you now, in front of our beloved friends and family, I will love you forever and ever. 07:55 I can't fix it, Clurry. 07:57 It's a massive hole. Well, of course you can't in this weather. 08:03 I think we're going to have to get all the turkeys out of here. 08:07 And put them where? 08:08 We could put them in the shed down in the farmyard. All of them? They'll be safer in there. 08:13 It's a mile away. How are we going to get them there? 08:16 In the van. Oh, my Lord. It's OK, it's OK. Look, you get to Lower Locksley. I could drop you there and come back here. 08:25 I'm not leaving you to do that on your own. No chance. 08:28 Are you sure? 08:29 Of course I'm sure. 08:31 Well, then, grab yourself a turkey, my love. 08:36 The vows were so gorgeous. Oh, I know. I didn't even know what Stella was going to say. 08:42 She made me weep. 08:44 You both did. You had us all going. Stella's sister, your Auntie Christine, obviously your gran, and Leonard. 08:51 It's true. Your dad was crying like he did when you were born. 08:56 I did look over and I did think, is Dad OK? 08:59 I am OK. I am very OK. LAUGHTER Although I'm glad I wasn't wearing make-up. 09:05 Why would you be wearing make-up? 09:07 Yeah, long story. 09:08 Really? No, it's... 09:10 I might just go and speak to Stella's mum. Oh, yeah, great. I feel bad that with her ankle she can't move around the room. Ah, yeah, I know. 09:17 I haven't really had the chance to say hello either. I'll come with you. 09:20 Oh, lovely, yeah. 09:23 Oh, hiya, Vince. 09:24 Congratulations. Thank you. Elizabeth just asked me to say the photographer's ready. When you are. Oh, right, OK, right. No panic, just letting you know. Oh, thanks. Hiya. How are you doing, Chelsea? 09:36 Yeah, good, thank you. You all right? 09:38 Yeah, good. Very impressed Elizabeth made this all work, despite the weather. 09:41 Yeah, seems like she's done an amazing job. So, Vince was just saying that it's time for the formal photos. No, Ross, just, you know, when you can. Yeah, but I'm thinking... Well... We all look a bit windswept, don't we? Oh, yeah, you do. I mean, we all do. 09:56 Do you think you could do anything with us? 09:58 Yeah, I could definitely make everyone look a bit more... Like we did before we left the house. 10:04 Oh, except... No, no, no, no, no. I've left all my gear at the bungalow. Oh. Oh, sorry. 10:10 Sorry. 10:11 No one looks great, really. Just a bit, you know. 10:13 Yeah, yeah, it's not the end of the world, is it? 10:15 The photos would be quite funny. I mean, you still look great. 10:18 Maybe I could just go and fetch my stuff. It's not, like, as far. I could give you a lift. Oh, really? Yeah, of course. Oh, are you sure, Vince? Absolutely. 10:26 I've not even had a glass of champagne. I'd be delighted to help. 10:29 That would be amazing. No problem. We'll be back in, like, 20 minutes, won't we? Oh, Chelsea, I'll just go grab our door keys. Vince, you're a star. 10:39 Well, we did it. 10:43 We did? 10:45 Oh, well done, Clary Love. 10:47 Or safely in the shed. 10:50 We miss the wedding. 10:53 And look at us. Yeah. 10:57 And you look so smart. And so handsome. 11:02 And you look so beautiful. 11:05 So, what do we do now? 11:07 I've no idea. I suppose we have to get changed and get to the reception. Do we? 11:14 Don't you want to? 11:16 I don't know if I do, Eddie, to be honest. 11:20 Hot bath, hot toddy and old romantic film would do me. 11:23 Seriously? 11:25 What about you? 11:27 I'd be thrilled to bits with that. 11:28 Well, there you go then. 11:31 And who wants to be driving in this weather? 11:35 So, thank you. So, a bit of a change of plan, I'm afraid. Our make-up artist and her driver have been delayed. 11:43 About to stop and play Good Samaritan to a fellow motorist. 11:46 Yeah, so we're all going to make our way to the orangery and enjoy the buffet, and then we'll have photos taken when they get back. 11:52 That's right, so don't spill your dinner down your frocks, folks. Oof. 12:01 Blimey, this is a bit scary now. 12:03 We'll be all right. We'll be all right. 12:05 I'm glad it's you driving, not me. I'd be really nervous. 12:09 Yeah, I'm not feeling too relaxed myself. 12:12 Sorry. 12:13 I'm only kidding, but it is quite, you know. 12:15 Yeah, yeah, it is. 12:17 What time is it now? 12:18 Um, half five? Yeah. 12:21 Oh, they'll be nearly finished with the buffet. 12:23 Yeah, let's hope they've saved us something to eat. 12:25 I bet they haven't. But Yannick's... 12:28 It's really good that you stopped for that poor woman, though. 12:31 I know, I know, but there was no choice, really. She had a baby and a toddler. We couldn't have left her waiting on the road, could we? 12:39 No, I know. OK? Yeah, just a bit cold. I should have brought my big coat, but it sort of ruined my outfit. 12:45 Yeah. 12:46 Yeah, well, that's the problem with big coats, I suppose. Oh, right, hang on a sec. 12:52 What? 12:53 There's something in the road. 12:55 What is it? 12:55 I don't know. Some sort of debris. 12:58 We're going to have to move it. Okay. I can do it. Don't come out without your coat. I'm not letting you do it on your own. 13:05 Come on. 13:09 Come on. 13:15 Where has all this stuff come from? I reckon it's an old shed that's been broken up. Some idiot's done a bit of fly-tipping. 13:24 Why not just take it to the dump? Because people are stupid and lazy. 13:33 Chelsea, move! What? Chelsea, the tree! Oh, my God! Ah! 13:39 Ah! 13:46 Mmm, this creme brulee is amazing, Ben. 13:50 So is this tarte tatame. 13:52 I think Elizabeth worked miracles. 13:53 I agree. 13:55 Shame Vince and Chelsea have missed the buffet. 13:57 It sounds like they did a good thing, though, rescuing that woman. 14:01 I just can't wait to see what this famous first dance is from Pip and Stella. 14:05 I know. Well, they've been so mysterious about it. 14:08 Well, I honestly can't wait. 14:09 You can't wait to take the mickey out of it. 14:11 I did not say that. 14:14 Oh, I know I shouldn't say this. 14:16 Do you think the dance is going to be terrible? 14:18 What? No, that's not what I was going to say. 14:20 Sorry. Sorry. What? 14:22 Everything's fantastic. And I'm so happy for Pitt and Stella. 14:27 But I just keep getting these, like, flashes of sadness. 14:32 Because I just wish... 14:34 I just wish that Josh was here. Well, yeah, of course. Of course you do. 14:38 So do I. 14:40 You know, at the end of the day, it's him who's missing out, isn't it? We're all having a great time. 14:45 But why? Why isn't he here? 14:47 I don't know, Mum. 14:48 Do you honestly not? 14:49 Yeah. 14:50 Promise? 14:51 Do you think I'm hiding something? 14:52 I don't know. I have no idea. 14:54 I'm not, I swear. 14:58 Look, I think he just... 15:00 He met that girl and he wanted to hang out with her. But this is his sister's wedding. I know, Mum. 15:12 Vince? 15:14 Vince? 15:16 Vince, please? Please, can you talk to me, please? Please? Vince? Geltry? Oh, thank God. I really thought... I really thought you were... Dead? 15:30 Yeah. I don't feel it. Very, uh, alive. Can you, can you, like, can you, like, move? 15:37 Can you move, move at all? I don't think so. 15:41 I don't know what to do, Vince. I don't know what to do. Do I, like, do I try and move the tree? Sorry, sorry, sorry. I'm really afraid of hurting you, because they say you shouldn't move someone, don't they? And I really don't want to make anything worse, but then you're just lying here in this horrendous weather, and then... 16:02 Oh, Edgy, do you have your phone? 16:05 Vince, have you got your phone on you? Is there any way you can, like, pass it? 16:09 It's in the car. 16:11 So is mine, see, and the car doors won't open. I can't get the door so fast. 16:17 What's that noise? 16:18 It's the car alarm. 16:20 My car? 16:21 Yeah, because the tree, you know, it hit the car. It's wrecked. I'm sorry. And now I can't. I can't open the doors, so I can't get to the phones. And I don't think I can lift this. So we're a bit... Scrooge. Well... 16:38 Okay. Okay. 16:40 I'm going to have to go and get help. Okay. From somewhere, someone. Yeah. And I don't want to leave you. I hate leaving you. It's all right. It's all right. I'm going to run, okay? I'm going to run like... Like the wind. 16:57 Yeah. 16:59 I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Vince. It's not your fault. Right, I'll be right back. 17:09 No. 17:11 Hello? Please, someone's here. Hello? Hello? Please, please. We need help. Where is it? I don't know. 17:23 Hello? 17:25 Please. 17:27 Oh, blimey. 17:28 Josh? Josh! 17:30 Yeah, Josh. 17:32 Josh! Chelsea, are you alright? I can't believe it, Josh. I can't believe it. Please tell me you got your phone. 17:40 Where's your dad gone? 17:46 He's over there chatting to Akram. 17:48 Oh, yeah. I think Akram's worried about his greenhouse. 17:53 I think everyone's worried about everything, aren't they? 17:55 I wonder if he'll be able to get your dad on the dance floor. 17:58 Will he be able to stop him? That's the question. 18:00 Hello. Hi, everyone. Hi, good evening. 18:04 I've been asked to let you all know that the bride and bride will be shortly taken to the dance floor, so if you could make your way to the ballroom when you finish your desserts, that would be most appreciated. Thank you. 18:14 Is Harrison already working for the family business? Shh! I'm just asking. I mean, why is he the one making these announcements? 18:21 Probably because Elizabeth's run off her feet. She's not stopped. Between you and me, I think she and Freddie have had words or something. Poor Lily's constantly putting wet floor signs everywhere. It's a shame, really. I mean, they should be able to enjoy this. They're family, too. 18:37 Ruth? 18:38 Yeah? 18:40 You've not seen Chelsea or Vince about, have you? I don't think they're back yet. 18:43 Have you tried to call them? Yeah, neither of them are answering the phones. 18:47 Could they still be with that other car? Oh, yeah, maybe. 18:50 How long does it take to change a tyre? 18:52 Oh, yeah, exactly. I've never actually changed one, so it'll probably take me a while. 18:56 Are you worried, Harrison? 18:58 You know, yeah. 18:59 Yeah, I am a bit. It's been gone ages, and, I mean, just look at the weather. 19:07 Fins, Fins, the ambulance is on its way, OK? 19:11 OK. 19:12 Your top priority. 19:13 Yeah. Good to know. 19:16 And a fire engine. 19:18 Josh, have you got anything waterproof in your rucksack? 19:21 Yeah, of course. Of course I have. 19:23 Yeah. Right. Can we just have, like, all your clothes? I mean, apart from what you're wearing, obviously. 19:30 Yeah. 19:31 Do we need, like, lots of layers? Do we need to keep him warm? 19:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can have anything. Oh, thanks. Here's the waterproof. 19:40 Okay. Yeah, great. And maybe a jumper first and then the waterproof? 19:47 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. 19:49 Sorry. 19:49 I've got a fleece here. 19:52 Ah, brilliant. Okay, yeah. Yeah, this is good. This is great. Here, here we go, Vince. This will cover you a bit. There you go. Thank you. 20:04 You should wear something too. You're going to freeze. 20:05 No, no, no, I'm fine. 20:06 You're not fine. Here, put this on. 20:10 Okay, yeah. Thanks. 20:15 You, um, you all right, Vince? I'm, uh, terrific. 20:20 I'm just going to keep trying, Elizabeth. 20:21 Yeah, yeah, yeah, do that. Just keep trying, everyone. 20:25 I have, I am. I've called Mum, Dad, Ben. No one's answering. 20:30 Ah, then, sir. Yeah? Just don't close your eyes. No, no, just... 20:37 It hurts. I know, I know, I know, but just don't close your eyes, yeah? Josh, Josh, come on, talk to us. Tell us just how come you're even here. 20:45 Oh, it's a long story. 20:47 Well, just... tell us the story just tell tell tell vince the story yeah okay okay um sorry so i met this girl see vince yeah yeah we do you know you met a girl the whole of abridge those you met a girl really yeah because you posted a million photos did not post a million photos anyway come 21:05 Anyway, yeah, so she had these few days left before she was going to go back to New Zealand and I thought I was never going to see her again because we were having like a, you know... Vince, Vince, you listening? 21:16 Listening to Josh? Yeah, he was having a fling. 21:20 Yeah, exactly, yeah, fling, yeah. And then I had this genius idea, like move my flight back a bit and get five extra days with the girl. 21:29 A name? 21:30 A pal. 21:31 Nice name. Do you reckon Vince? Yeah. But where's the genius bit? 21:36 The what? 21:36 The genius bit. 21:38 Your idea. Oh. 21:40 The surprise element. 21:41 Yeah. 21:42 Telling everyone I couldn't make it. 21:44 But that just annoyed everyone. Where's the... 21:48 Josh's car. Yeah, like, how are you just, like, out here in the dark with a rucksack? 21:55 Well, my cab had to drop me on the side of the road because of all of the trees. 21:58 What, you mean there's more? There's more trees in the roads? 22:02 Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's loads. 22:04 What, but how's the ambulance going to get past? 22:12 I'm gonna get this dance on film and plaster it all over the internet. 22:15 Ben! I'm kidding. 22:17 I do want to get it on film though, don't you? 22:19 Yeah, of course. 22:20 Right. 22:22 That's weird. 22:24 What? 22:25 I've got three missed calls from Josh. 22:27 From Josh? 22:29 Yeah. Have you looked at your phone? 22:30 No. 22:31 Maybe he was just trying to call to congratulate Pip. 22:34 Maybe. 22:36 I've got five. 22:38 Five missed calls. 22:39 I'm just going to ring him, okay? I don't want to miss the dance. No, no, no. 22:42 Ring him. Ring him. Just ring him. 22:46 Mum? Mum? Hi. Hi. 22:48 Josh, are you okay? 22:50 Not really, no. I'm with Vince and Chelsea. What? Yeah, about half a mile away on the road by the rewilding, but Vince is injured. He's trapped under a tree. The ambulance is coming, but someone needs to tell Elizabeth and she's not archering her phone. And also, maybe we just need more people to come and help because there's a fire engine on the way too, but we don't know when it's going to reach us because the services are really stretched and... 23:14 We don't even know if the ambulance can get through, but we can't move Vince, and it's just all quite mad, so... OK, OK, hang on. 23:21 Ben? What the hell's going on? Vince has had an accident. 23:24 How does Josh know that? 23:26 Josh is there. I mean, here. 23:28 He's here? 23:28 Yeah, just stop the road. Mum? Yeah, Josh, yeah. 23:32 Mum, I've got to go, all right? I've got to go, cos Chelsea needs me. 23:35 OK, OK, we'll call you back. We'll get help and we'll call you right back. 23:39 What's happened? Is everything okay? 23:41 Harrison. Harrison, the perfect man. 23:44 I know you are. You are. Vince has had an accident. 23:48 What, a crash? 23:49 No, a tree. 23:51 What the hell? 23:53 Power cut. 23:54 Great. That's great. Just what we need. 23:56 Ruth, tell me about Vince. Where is he? 24:02 Vince, don't close your eyes. 24:07 Don't close your eyes, okay? I'm just tired. Yeah, I know, I know, but just... Just don't close your eyes, okay? 24:16 Vince, mate, you're doing really well. You're doing great. Yeah. 24:21 Vince? 24:23 Open your eyes, mate. 24:24 Open your eyes, Vince. Come on. Vince? Oh, please. Is he all right? I don't know. I don't know. Vince, come on. Come on. Just talk to us, OK? 24:32 The ambulance is going to be here so soon. 24:34 You've just got to hold on, like, a little bit longer. Vince? 24:40 He is breathing, isn't he? He's still breathing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There he is. I just don't understand. One minute he was just chatting. Has he just fainted? Is that it? 24:54 Yeah, he's definitely breathing. 24:56 He looks like he's the wrong colour. Look. 25:00 I know. 25:01 Vince, Vince, oh please, wake up. 25:06 Everyone's on their way now, yeah? 25:09 Yeah, the ambulance, fire engine, Elizabeth, everyone. 25:13 We just don't want you to die, okay? Yeah. 25:18 Can you do us a favour and not die, please? 25:27 Elizabeth says she's got someone working on the electrics. Oh, man, hope they can fix it. And Lily's fetching a ton of candles. What about the fire risk? Oh, no, no, they'll put them in these little lanterns. Do you think the universe is trying to tell us something? It's probably trying to say, don't get married in a hurricane. 25:42 Yeah, too late for that. 25:44 Or maybe you just cut the power yourself, Stella, so you didn't have to do our dance. Ah! 25:50 I can't wait to do a dance. No, I'm kidding. 25:52 You could always do it by candlelight. 25:54 Yeah. 25:55 It does sound risky. 25:57 Can you imagine? Are you two okay? Yeah, we're fine. We're absolutely fine. 26:03 I really am sorry. And we did have all the electrics checked over very recently. 26:07 Oh, Elizabeth, this is definitely not your fault. It's the weather. If it's anyone's fault, it's ours for getting married in this madness. It's the weather. 26:15 Elizabeth. 26:15 Oh, hi, David. Look, I'm so sorry about this. 26:18 No, no, no, it's all right. 26:18 I've got someone trying to get the power back, but I'm not sure how long it's going to take. 26:22 Elizabeth, listen. 26:23 What's wrong? 26:24 I've got some bad news. 26:26 What? What's happened? 26:27 Vince has been in an accident. 26:29 Sorry? Oh, no. 26:30 He was hit by a falling tree on his way back here. 26:34 Dad? 26:35 Yes, he did. 26:36 No, no, no, no, goodness no, he's alive. But he's badly injured. 26:41 An ambulance is on its way, but they're struggling to get him because there's another tree at the bottom of the lane blocking the way for the... What, he's out there right now in this weather? Yeah, because he's trapped by this tree. 26:51 Trapped? 26:51 Apparently there's a fire engine on its way too. 26:53 I need to see him, I need to go. 26:55 All right, I'll drive you there. I can drive you there right now. I've had one glass of champagne, that's it. 27:00 Yeah, well, then let's go. Please, let's go. Dad, if there's anything we can do, just... Don't worry, Pip. 27:05 Just try and enjoy your wedding, OK? 27:09 Stella, what can we do? How do we help them? 27:13 I mean, if the road's blocked. Well, we came here in a tractor with a front loader. We did, we did. Of course we did. 27:23 How long has it been since you called an ambulance? 27:26 Uh, 22 minutes. 27:30 It feels longer. 27:30 Yeah, I know. 27:38 If I hadn't left all my make-up at the bungalow, we wouldn't be here. 27:42 Chelsea. 27:43 If I just brought it with me. 27:45 Chelsea, you can't. 27:48 Don't think like that. 27:49 I meant to bring my kit with me. I meant to. 27:52 Look, it doesn't mean anything. 27:57 It's just bad luck. 28:00 It's just life. 28:02 I don't want him to die. 28:03 I know, me neither. 28:05 Plus, he saved my life. 28:06 Did he? 28:07 Yeah. When? 28:08 When? 28:09 When do you think? Like today? How? Because we got out of the car to move all this stuff that had blown into the road and that's when the tree came down on us and Vince was so quick, you know, like he shouted. 28:25 He screamed really and he shoved me out of the way and he took the hit. 28:30 Good for him. 28:32 It wasn't good for him, was it? 28:34 No, but he was brave. 28:36 He did the right thing. 28:38 I hope I would have done the same. 28:40 But he would have been all right. 28:42 He'd have been fine if he'd just thought more about himself and less about me. 28:49 But then maybe you'd have been killed. 28:51 That's true, I suppose, but why should it be him and not me? 28:56 Because maybe this way you both survive. How about that? 29:07 I don't understand. 29:10 I don't understand how this happened. 29:12 Well, I'm not too sure myself. 29:13 I mean, why were they out of the car? 29:15 I don't know. 29:16 How is Vince trapped under a tree? I mean, how is he alive and trapped under a tree? 29:24 And how's Josh involved? 29:26 I don't know. I guess we'll find out when we get there. 29:30 I'm afraid that by the time we get there, Vince will be gone. 29:34 I'm afraid I won't have time to say goodbye. Elizabeth. And I won't have time to tell him what he means to me. 29:38 Come on. Hey, come on. 29:41 What? You have to stop thinking like that. He's alive. 29:45 He's alive, OK? 29:46 I just want him to know. I want him to know how happy he's made me. 29:53 All right. Well, you can tell him. You can tell him when you see him. 29:59 I don't know if I can go through this again. Elizabeth. Honestly, I don't. 30:10 We had a falling out on Friday, Vince and I. David, I've been cool with him for the last couple of days. 30:20 Oh, come on, that's just normal everyday relationship stuff, isn't it? 30:25 But I wish it hadn't happened. 30:27 But it doesn't really matter, does it? 30:30 Not in the grand scheme of things. 30:32 But I just need to tell him that I'm sorry and that I know he meant well and that he always does and that I love him. 30:41 I really, really love him. 30:42 OK, well, you can say all of that when you see him. It's not too late. 30:48 We don't know that, though, do we? I know you're trying to drive carefully, but please, David, please, can we go a bit faster? 30:59 Oh, Zainab. 31:00 Is everything okay? Do you want something to cover those candles? 31:03 Oh, thanks, but no, it's fine now. We're under the porch. 31:05 Can I do anything else to help? 31:07 Yeah, I'll tell you what. Do you think you could just put a few more of these lanterns and candles out? 31:10 Yeah, sure. 31:11 Yeah. Make sure the place is well lit, but no naked flames, all right? 31:14 Yeah, obviously. 31:15 The last thing we need is a fire. Can you imagine? 31:17 Oh, right, yeah. 31:19 And thanks. Thanks for taking that on. And look, I'm sorry I can't help, but I've really got to go. 31:23 Oh, something's happened, hasn't it? Something bad. 31:25 Well, yeah, look, I'll tell you what, don't say anything, but Vince and Chelsea have been in an accident. 31:31 Are they OK? Are they hurt? 31:33 Vince is really hurt, yeah, but Chelsea's OK. I'm going to go down there myself in a minute. 31:38 I want to do something. I want to help. 31:39 There's nothing you can do right now, OK? But I don't want everyone knowing, so please keep it quiet. 31:45 Yeah, of course, of course. 31:46 Ruth knows, all right? And Ben knows, but no one else, all right? 31:49 OK, OK. Look, I've got to go. 31:51 Whoa! 31:54 The orange drink. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Wait, wait, no, Zainab. Khalil's in there. 31:59 Yeah, all right, well, come back, Zainab. 32:01 He's in there with Kira and Henry. 32:02 Yep, Zainab, wait. Zainab. 32:08 I bet this is just how you pictured our wedding. What? Moving a fallen tree in his store. Yeah. 32:14 Totally, yeah. 32:17 Right, we can do this. Can we? Yep. 32:20 Right, just dip the loader a tiny bit more. Okay, okay. Bit more. I just can't quite get it to... Do you want me to have a go? 32:29 No, no, no, no. That's it, that's it. You've got it, you've got it. You've got the tree, that's it. Okay, okay, okay. Now we just need to get it out of the road. That's the easy bit. Keep it steady, keep it steady. Yeah, I mean, I'm trying. No, you're doing amazing. You are amazing. Just shut, shut. You are, you are. 32:47 Nearly there. 32:50 Ah, yes! Oh! You did it! We did it! We did it! 32:55 Right, I'm just going to wave the ambulance through. 32:57 Right, you can go! You can go! Go, go, go! 33:00 Hey. 33:05 You OK, Zainab? 33:06 Yeah, yeah. 33:08 You sure? 33:09 Yeah, no. I know I don't look like I am, but I am. I just thought... I just thought it was going to be really bad, and it's like... It's like the relief, you know? I'm just... I was crying with relief. 33:21 Well, yeah. 33:22 They were very lucky. 33:24 Yeah, I know. 33:25 Could have been, er... 33:27 I know, I know, yeah. 33:28 And none of the catering team were injured, which is amazing, really. 33:32 Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is. It's a miracle. 33:35 I mean, that's one hell of a big chimney. 33:38 Straight through the glass roof into the buffet. 33:40 Yeah, that's the end of the creme caramel and ta-ta-tan. 33:45 Well, we've probably all eaten too much anyway. 33:47 Yeah, exactly. 33:49 I just really thought my brother was dead, you know, until I saw him standing in the rain. I was just running over there thinking, I know he's gone. And in a way, I was probably a bit mad. 34:01 Not mad. Not mad at all. 34:03 But in that moment, I was just completely convinced. 34:07 I thought you were brilliant, you know. 34:10 When? 34:10 When, with your brother and the other two. You were really calm and reassuring. It was impressive. 34:16 Oh, thank you. 34:18 Ben's had a look at Kira and he thinks she should go to hospital just to check she hasn't got any glass in those cups. 34:23 Oh, OK. 34:24 But he thinks Khalil and Henry are fine. OK? Absolutely fine. 34:30 Alhamdulillah. 34:31 Alhamdulillah. 34:36 The ambulance is about to leave, so I'm going with Vince. OK. OK. 34:42 I really hope he's going to be all right. Well, he might be now, thanks to you and Stella and Josh and Chelsea. 34:47 Call us if you need anything, Elizabeth. 34:49 Yeah, OK. Yeah, don't hesitate. 34:51 Thank you. Thank you so much, everyone. 34:53 And keep us posted when you can. 34:56 Yeah, of course, I will. 35:00 Blimey. It's been quite a night. 35:02 And it's only half six. Is it? Yeah, it is. 35:06 Are you all right, Chelsea? What did the paramedics say? 35:09 Oh, no, they said I'm fine and just to go home and have someone stay with me. Brad's there, so, yeah, I'll be all right. 35:16 All right, well, if you're sure. Yeah. You did a fantastic thing tonight, all of you. Well done. 35:21 Thanks. Yeah, thanks, Dad. 35:25 Do you think Vince is going to be all right? 35:27 Oh, I'm sure he is. 35:28 He saved my life. Did he? Uh-huh. Yeah, he pushed me out the way and the tree hit him. Oh, wow, that's amazing. I know, I know it is. It really is. 35:38 Really, it should be me in the ambulance, shouldn't it? 35:41 Oh, no, come on, come on, Chelsea, don't. 35:42 Oh, and your lovely wedding. Oh, no, don't worry about that. 35:47 Let me take you home. Come on. There's a warm, dry car over here. 35:51 I am so sorry, both. Don't be tempted. Go, go, go, go with Dad. Yeah, thanks, David. 35:58 Pip, are you and Stella going to take the tractor? 36:01 I mean, we can't really leave it, can we? 36:04 I can drive it if you want. 36:05 No way. 36:06 The ferry lights do look cool. 36:09 Thank you. They're really pretty. I think it's actually stopped raining, you know? 36:14 No. I think it has. Yeah. OK, Chelsea, Josh, let's go. I'll drop you on the way. Bye. And Josh, you have a ton of questions to answer. 36:25 Well, we did it. 36:28 Well, got married. 36:29 No, although we did that too. 36:31 I mean, we saved the day. No, on our wedding day. 36:37 Honestly, though, there was one point when we were trying to move that tree. Oh, I know. 36:42 I was like, this isn't going to work. 36:43 And I could see the ambulance waiting. Yeah, but we did it. We did. Yeah. We did. 36:52 But we never did our dance. 36:53 I know. 36:54 Well, maybe we could do it another time. At the village fate. 36:58 Next year's flower and produce. 37:00 Well, yeah, that's a great idea. 37:03 Can you imagine? Yeah, yeah, I kind of can. Wow. 37:08 I've just realised. 37:11 What? 37:13 You're my wife. I know. 37:20 Oh, I know. It's been a mad day, to say the least. And so much has gone wrong. But Pip, I'm so, so happy that we're married. Me too. 37:33 Me too. 37:35 And I am really happy. Really looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you. 37:47 This week on The Interface, millions of kids have grown up on camera with their childhoods turned into content. There's a new law in California that gives kinfluencers the right to be forgotten, and it could impact adults too. 37:57 And an attack on Russian data centers started a rumor that all the evil disinformation bots had been deleted from the internet. But the truth might actually be a lot scarier. 38:09 For our take, join me, Jess Maddox. 38:11 And me, Thomas Germain, for The Interface. 38:14 Listen on BBC.com or wherever you get your podcasts. 38:18 I founded the Ornota in 2013 and made a vestuario for cyclists. For me, the best part of Shopify is the possibility of a business even not having technical knowledge. We managed to get everything from back-end to front-end and make online vendas, without complications. If a Shopify was a cyclist equipment, I would say that it would be a bike. It's what allows us to get where we want. It's on Shopify that we manage our business. Come on your evaluation on Shopify.com. 38:54 Wow. I know. 38:56 This is bad. Yeah. 38:58 Is it just you on your own, Ben? Yeah, for now it is. I mean, someone put the tarpaulin up last night, but I think it was so cold and wet, it just left everything else. And of course, they had no power. Oh, yeah. But the power's back on now. 39:10 Yeah. 39:10 Yeah, but only since this morning, because it was an actual power line that went down. Yeah, I heard that. So, I think some other people are on their way, but Lily's in the office, trying to sort stuff like insurance, and Freddie's had to go to Casey Meats, because obviously Vince isn't there, is he? Yeah. Do you know how Vince is? No, not really. Apparently Elizabeth hasn't left his side since last night. 39:34 You saved his life, Josh. Not just me. Yeah, but if you hadn't turned up when you did, with a phone... Yeah, but that's all I did. Turn up with the phone. 39:43 Not very heroic, is it? It seemed pretty heroic to me. 39:46 It was nearly out of juice, too. 39:48 I mean, if Vince had died... I know. 39:51 And for Auntie Elizabeth to go through that again? I know. God, I know. Anyway, he's all right. Or he will be, touch wood. Do you know if Chelsea's okay? 40:03 I messaged her this morning. She said she's all right. Okay. 40:06 She was brilliant yesterday. I bet. 40:09 I mean, I can imagine. 40:10 She did really well. Good. 40:13 I might go and check on her later. Yeah, I could come with. Yeah, yeah, if you want. 40:17 How come you're not at work? I actually booked a day off, weirdly. Ages ago. 40:23 Didn't think there'd be a massive storm and I'd be clearing up the debris of the orangery, did I? 40:28 I mean, the size of that chimney. 40:31 Right through the roof. It's amazing people weren't hurt. We'd only just finished eating there, like 20 minutes or so before. 40:37 Oh, yeah. 40:40 OK, right. So what can I do? 40:43 I could go inside and get another brush? No, I brought a dustpan and brush just there. If you won't mind maybe wrapping up all the smaller bits of glass in newspaper and then we can get them all in those bin bags. 40:53 OK, yep. 40:56 How's things at Brookfield? 40:58 Yeah, all right, actually. I think we got off lightly compared to this. 41:02 How's Kira? 41:03 Do you know? They did take her to hospital. 41:07 I mean, I think she was more freaked out than anything else. 41:12 Message from Joy. 41:15 Everything okay? 41:16 Apparently her cat is missing. Oh? She's made a cat chat group. 41:22 What's a cat look like? I can't picture it. It's black and white. Ina. 41:26 Went missing in the storm. Are you not on it? What, the cat chat? Yeah. 41:31 Poor Joy. No, I'm not. Shall I add you? Please don't. That is not very community-minded of you, Josh. Sorry? I thought you'd come back a changed man. 41:45 Oh, it's a tragedy and a travesty. 41:49 You could write a poem about it, Grandpa. 41:51 Oh, I could. I really could. 41:55 An ode to the community orchard. Just look at it. 41:58 Oh, I know. 41:59 All those trees. 42:02 All those beautiful trees. I feel like crying. 42:06 Well, cry then. 42:08 Tears are good for you. Especially for men, because men don't cry enough. 42:13 Oh, is that so? 42:14 Yeah, it is, yeah. And that's one of the reasons why so many of you have mental health problems. 42:20 I think it's a bit more complicated than that. 42:22 Yeah, I know, but crying is a start for making things better. That's all I'm saying. 42:27 Yeah, OK. Never mind that for now. What are we going to do with all these apples? 42:33 Pick them up. 42:35 There's hundreds of them. 42:36 And we've got to pick them up before they start rotting. 42:39 Then we'd better get on with it. 42:41 Yeah. Oh. 42:46 At least you rescued all your turkeys from drowning. 42:49 Yeah, I mean, they probably wouldn't have drowned. They would have just got very cold and wet and miserable. 42:58 That sounds worse than drowning. 43:00 Hey, I don't think so. 43:02 Shame you missed the wedding. 43:03 Not by the sounds of it. 43:05 No, it was really good. The food was amazing. 43:08 Was it? 43:08 It was. Oh, but it was too good, actually, because if it hadn't been so amazing, we wouldn't have gone back for more dessert during the blackout and had our near-death experience. 43:21 On the other hand, though, if I hadn't had my near-death experience, I would have had to go to school today. So, yeah, in fact, I'm glad we went back for more. Kira... 43:32 Well, I wasn't really injured. 43:33 You got some nasty cuts. 43:35 No, but it was worth it for the buffet and the missing score. 43:40 What we gonna do with you, eh? 43:47 Is it weird being back then? 43:49 Yeah. 43:50 Yeah, it is. Yeah? Especially the timing. 43:53 I felt really sad driving through the village. Did you? Just everything looked so battered. Yeah. 43:59 I saw two houses with roofs that were, you know, Exposed. Anyone we know? Don't think so. Apparently the allotments took a real battering. Bits of glass everywhere with greenhouses being flattened. Wow, really? Yeah, but Tom's greenhouse. Oh, Tom's amazing, super amazing greenhouse. That's still standing. Why are you saying it like that? Well, because he has been that smug, honestly. He hasn't stopped going on about this new, all-singing, all-dancing greenhouse for weeks. And now all we're going to hear is, oh, did you know that my greenhouse is fine because it's so amazing and it's so expensive. 44:31 Yeah, well, I might avoid him for a week or two then. Oh, I'm sure he'll still be going on about it in a week or two. 44:42 I did really miss it, you know, Hambridge. Yeah, yeah, we could tell from all the loving messages you sent. Oi! I was trying to say something nice. Yeah, but you're still going back to Patagonia, right? 44:53 Yeah, yeah, I think so. 44:55 You're not sure? No, I am. 44:57 I am. 44:59 I mean, that's the plan. 45:00 Hiya. 45:02 Hi, Chels. Shall we have a seat? 45:04 Is it safe? 45:05 Yeah, just watch your feet. 45:06 Ah, OK. How are you doing? 45:10 Yeah, I'm alright, thanks. Just wanted to see if I could help. 45:15 This is a right mess, isn't it? 45:18 Shouldn't you be, like, at home, in bed, recovering? 45:21 Recovering from what? It's not like I was injured, is it? 45:24 You've got a nasty bruise by your eye. 45:26 Yeah. 45:28 Looks horrible, doesn't it? 45:29 No, it doesn't look horrible. 45:30 It just looks painful. 45:32 Right, does anyone know how Vince is? 45:34 No, I don't think there's any news. Elizabeth's with him at the hospital. 45:37 I mean, it's not critical or, you know, anything like really bad, is it? 45:42 We don't know. We've no idea. I mean, he didn't have a major head injury, did he? 45:46 Well, not as far as we know. 45:47 But then he did lose consciousness, but... Yeah, that was awful. 45:51 That was so awful when we couldn't wake him. 45:55 It really was. 45:56 But no, apparently this morning he's been talking to Elizabeth. So, I mean, it's not like he's in a coma or anything. 46:02 Last night I so wished I was someone medical. Honestly, I went home thinking, maybe I'll train to be a nurse. 46:09 Really? 46:09 Yeah, but by this morning I was like, Chelsea, you ate blood and you don't really like hospitals, so... 46:15 But you could probably get over that if you wanted to. I thought you really loved hairdressing. 46:19 Yeah, I do, I do, but... What use is it? 46:23 Well, everyone would have really long hair, for one thing. 46:26 Yeah, well, I don't know, I just felt useless last night. 46:29 But you weren't useless. You were fantastic. 46:31 No, you're just saying that. 46:33 I'm really not. No, he really isn't. He was saying the same thing before when you weren't here. 46:37 Well, anyway, it doesn't matter. So long as Vince is going to be all right. 46:40 Yeah, I really think he is. I mean, he's Vince Casey, right? He's hard as nails. 46:48 Can you believe the baby slept through the whole night? 46:51 Yeah, I know. 46:53 When are they going to give the little lad a name? That's what I want to know. 46:57 Well, I suppose they just want to find the right one. 46:59 How hard can it be? 47:01 I thought Jo would have been so lovely. 47:04 But only if they felt like it was the right one, though. 47:07 Well, it's her baby, I suppose. 47:09 Yeah, it's probably hard to explain. 47:11 I tell you what, the storm's been good for one thing, hasn't it? 47:15 What's that? 47:16 Well, the tree surgery business is doing a roaring trade today. 47:20 That's true. 47:21 No doubt there'll be plenty more to do in the foreseeable. 47:24 Yeah, yeah. 47:26 So, every cloud and all that? 47:29 literally oh someone will need to chuck all the food away right oh yeah good point i'm sure lily's on it some of it might be okay you cannot eat it josh there'll be broken glass in it i still can't believe the chimney came down yeah i know when the lightning struck it was like a bomb exploding like vince's accident and this yeah I mean, this is where I work. 47:59 Yeah, that's a bit rubbish for you. 48:01 I mean, it's worse for your auntie and, you know, anyone who's full-time. Might have to look for something else for a few weeks or just try and get more hairdressing. 48:10 Well, actually, I was wondering, Chelsea, is there any chance I could get a haircut? 48:15 Oh, yeah, sure, yeah. I mean, I've got space tomorrow, I think. I mean, you can say no if... No, no, it's fine. Really, it's fine. 48:25 Actually, I wouldn't mind a haircut too. Really? Yeah. Yeah, why not? 48:29 Great. Yeah, I think doing a few haircuts might make me feel a bit more normal again, you know? 48:34 Great. 48:35 Great. 48:40 This is going to take us forever. 48:42 No, it's not. Come on, chin up. 48:44 No, Grandpa, it is. Look how many we've gathered, and look how many there's still on the ground. 48:50 Well, we've only been at it for half an hour. 48:54 Well, you said time is of the essence. 48:56 And it is. 48:58 So, we need more people, don't we? We need an army. 49:01 Well, we haven't got an army. It's just you and me, kidder. 49:05 What if... What if we asked everyone to come over later, and then everyone could take the apples they collect and make, like, cakes and crumbles and pies or whatever they want, and then we could have a party with a fire and cider and everything... 49:22 That's a lovely idea, Kieran. 49:24 And maybe it'll make everyone feel a bit better, you know? 49:28 Yeah. Yeah. 49:29 Because we've all been through the mill, as you would say. 49:33 We have. 49:34 We really have. 49:40 I mean, it does look a bit better now. 49:43 Oh, another message from Joy. 49:45 Ah, is this the catch-up? 49:46 Yeah, you on it? 49:47 I am, yeah. 49:48 Do you think she's included the entire village on it? 49:50 Yeah, probably. 49:53 I'm just going to reply. Just say something nice. 49:57 Message from Lily. What's she saying? 50:00 She's apologising, but she's going to drive straight to the hospital right now. 50:04 Does she say anything about Vince? 50:07 No. 50:07 Nothing at all? 50:08 I don't think there's any news yet. 50:10 I just really, really want to know that he's going to be okay. That's all I want to hear, you know? 50:14 I think you've got to try and stop worrying. I mean, like, this much, Chelsea. 50:18 No, I don't think I can. 50:20 Vince has got loads of people looking after him, right? You have to trust that. There's nothing you can do. He's not your responsibility. 50:26 Yeah, but I just can't help feeling that he is. Because he took the hit, you know, to save me. And if he's really okay, why isn't someone saying that? Why can't someone just tell us what's going on? 50:46 Mum? Oh, hey, Lily. 50:47 Hey, how are you? Yeah, OK, I'm OK. Are you going to be in the office at all this morning? 50:55 No, no, I'm not. I'm going to head to the hospital. 50:57 It's just that the loss adjuster is coming in later and it would be great if... No, you can talk to the loss adjuster, Lily. 51:02 You'll be fine. And Vince needs me. 51:04 I know, but Mum, don't you think you need a break too? No, I'm fine. I'm absolutely fine. But you've been with him almost constantly for nearly four days. It's not four days. Well, nearly. Today's Thursday. 51:16 No, today's Wednesday. 51:18 No, it's Thursday. 51:20 Are you sure? 51:21 Yeah. 51:22 All right, fine. 51:24 I'm not looking for an argument. 51:26 I'm not looking for an argument either. 51:28 I'm going to get in the shower. It's joy. It's joy. 51:33 I feel terrible saying this, but I can't face talking to her. 51:35 That's fine, Mum. 51:36 No, it's not fine. 51:36 Of course it is. 51:38 I'm very, very fond of her. I know you are. I just... I don't want to talk to anyone. 51:42 And that's OK? 51:44 Do you know if she's all right? Joy? Yeah. 51:48 Yeah? I think so. 51:50 What? What's wrong? 51:51 Oh, well, her cat's missing. 51:53 Oh, no. Really? 51:55 Yeah. She's made a group chat for the cat, but she's deliberately not put you in it. 52:00 Oh. 52:01 Well, she knows you've got... that you're dealing with a lot. So when did the cat go missing? In the storm. 52:06 Oh, poor Joy. She really loves that cat. 52:10 I know. I know she does. 52:11 I feel really bad. 52:12 No, Mum, please don't. She wouldn't want you to, and it really is fine. You're in an emergency kind of situation. People get it, OK? They do. 52:27 Harrison? 52:28 Oh, hey up. Morning Zina. 52:31 What happened here? 52:32 Oh, it's just a litter from the storm. Bins were flying abert on Sunday night. 52:38 Oh, I know, yeah. We still haven't found our recycling bin and it's one of those big wheelie bins, not some little plastic box. 52:43 Oh, yeah, do you know what? I feel like the whole village has been out in force for three days clearing up and do you think we'd be done right now? 52:52 Well, I'm sorry to add to your burdens, but I kind of need your help. 52:56 Oh. 52:58 Yeah, sure. What is it? 53:00 I might have found Joy's cat. 53:02 Joy's cat? 53:03 Yeah, you know, Ina. 53:05 Yeah. 53:06 I think I might have found her, but I can't actually reach her, and I think she's stuck. 53:10 No. OK, where is she then? 53:13 On the roof of this house on the next road. 53:15 OK. OK. 53:16 So it's this bloke in his 80s who lives there, and he says he doesn't mind someone going up there to grab the cat, but he hasn't got a ladder. 53:23 OK. Well, yeah, I mean, I can get hold of a ladder. 53:27 Kenton will have one at the pub. 53:29 Do you think? 53:30 Yeah, I'll nip over. 53:31 Will that be all right? 53:33 With Kenton? 53:34 Yeah. 53:34 Yeah. No, he'll be fine. 53:37 All right, then. I'll go and ask the vets if they'll lend me a cat carrier. 53:39 Oh, good thinking, Batman. 53:45 Well, that's a bit better. Good. 53:48 It's amazing what a shower can do for you. 53:50 And I've just talked to Freddie, and we've agreed that he's going to keep things on track at the abattoir, and I'm going to look after things here. 53:57 And what about Grey Gables? 53:59 Ian and Oliver get it. Everyone gets it. It's fine. So, you don't need to worry about anything, except I do really need to talk to you about the insurance. 54:08 Oh, I'm sure that can wait, Lily. 54:10 but she's coming today. 54:11 Well, can't she just come next week? 54:13 Well, I think they want to do this kind of thing as soon as possible. I mean, I did suggest next week, but she wasn't keen. 54:18 Well, so long as she knows I can't be here. 54:21 OK. Don't worry, I'm sure it's fine. Right, I should get dressed. 54:26 Look, can I just ask... What? Have you had any breakfast? 54:29 No, but I'm not hungry. 54:31 You do need to eat, Mum. 54:33 I'll eat when I'm hungry, OK? 54:36 OK. Sure. Sorry. 54:38 Do you think I should call Joy back? 54:40 That's totally up to you. 54:42 Yeah, I'm feeling guilty. 54:43 I mean, that's the last thing she'd want. 54:44 I'll just call her. 54:46 OK. Oh, Elizabeth. How lovely to hear from you. 54:59 Lily just told me about Ina. I'm so sorry. 55:02 Oh, don't... 55:03 I mean, yes, thank you, but Dina's nothing to what you and Vince are going through. 55:08 Well, but that's not really the point, is it? You love that cat. 55:12 Well, I do, I do. But, you know, never mind Dina for now. How's Vince getting on? Can I ask? 55:19 Yeah, you can ask, but I can't really answer because I don't know. I mean, I don't know because no one will tell me anything. 55:27 Oh, Elizabeth. So what do they say then? 55:30 whether they just keep talking about test results and then doing more tests, and just when we think they've finished, they say we just need to try one more thing. Honestly, it's endless, and the jargon, the words, I can't keep hold of it. 55:44 I'm trying to write everything down, but I feel like I'm just not getting it all. 55:48 Vince, he's trying to be cheerful, but I can see he's terrified. 55:52 Oh, it sounds so hard. 55:55 It's the waiting joy, you know. 55:58 The waiting to know what's actually wrong. 56:01 It's awful. 56:07 OK. 56:09 I can climb up there. I'm happy to climb up there. 56:11 No, no, no, no, no. It's got to be me. 56:14 Why? 56:15 Because I'm a policeman. 56:16 Well, what's that got to do with anything? 56:18 Well, because it don't matter if I break my neck. 56:20 Of course it matters. 56:21 Well, you know what I mean. 56:24 No, I don't, actually. 56:25 Just hold the ladder, OK? 56:28 You just look a bit nervous. 56:29 I am not nervous. 56:32 Are you scared of heights? 56:34 No. 56:35 No. 56:37 I'm scared of cats. 56:38 Seriously? 56:39 No. Well... 56:41 So why did you say that? 56:42 I mean, I'm just... I just don't like picking them up. 56:45 Well, let me go then. I've got no problem picking them up. 56:47 No, no. It's all right. I'm doing it. I'm going. 56:55 OK, OK, I'm actually off this time. 56:58 Are you sure you're OK, Mum? I mean, I know you're not, OK? You were so upset talking to Joy. 57:04 Yeah, because it's upsetting. What's happening is incredibly upsetting. 57:07 I know. 57:08 But I'm fine now. I'm fine and I need to get going. 57:10 OK, just one last thing. Is there anything you specifically want me to say to the loss adjuster? 57:16 Honestly? 57:17 Yeah. 57:18 Yeah, tell them they may as well not bother coming because the place is cursed. Sorry? Nothing good happens here, nothing thrives. What are you talking about? We've worked unbelievably hard and now it's all in ruins. 57:26 It's not in ruins. 57:27 And nearly everyone associated with this place has something bad happen to them. 57:30 That's not true, not at all. Honestly, honestly, right now, that's the way it seems. Yes, right now, because you're exhausted. And I think you might still be in shock or something. I'm not in shock. Mum... We will fix this, OK? 57:45 Everyone is going to work really hard and we can get things in order as soon as we possibly can. 57:52 And how do you think we'll withstand this kind of damage in the long term? The insurance... No, the insurance is not going to cover this. 57:58 Yes, it is. Of course it will. That's what insurance is for. But the damage is not that bad, Mum. It's only really the orangery. 58:05 Not to mention a huge chimney stack. And what about all the cancellations? I mean, we're supposed to have Halloween next week. All the events that we can't host. All the people who were thinking of booking us but now won't. Or they'll think twice and they'll drift off somewhere else. Mum, I think you're catastrophising because you're exhausted. Lily, this is a catastrophe. You can't accuse someone of catastrophising when it's an actual catastrophe. 58:26 I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm trying to keep things in perspective. 58:34 Zainab! Harrison! Hey, Joy! Hey! 58:38 Look who we found. 58:41 Oh, I can't believe it. It's Ena. Oh, I thought she was lost, lost forever. Oh, hello, Ena. 58:48 Hello, puppet. 58:50 I can't believe it. 58:51 Where did you find her? 58:53 She was on Mr Nicholson's roof down the road. Really? Really? 58:56 Yeah, I think she'd been up there a while. I don't know why she was so stuck, but I think you might need to take her to the vet. Oh, I will, I will. She doesn't seem to have any obvious injuries, but... She's been out in the store, hasn't she? 59:06 Lost for a few days. 59:07 I can't believe it. I can't believe she's back. I thought she was gone. Gone for good. Gone for bad. 59:13 Well, it was Zainab who spotted her. 59:16 Was it? 59:16 It's her you have to thank. 59:17 No, no, it was a team effort. It was Harrison who went up the ladder. Oh, give us a hug, both of you. Oh, OK. And you, Harrison. 59:26 Oh, sure. 59:29 Oh, aren't you angels the pair of you? Right, I'm going to go and feed poor Ina and call the vet and then I'll put this happy news on the cat chat. 59:39 Oh, OK. You do that, Joy. 59:45 Mum? 59:46 Mum? What? 59:48 Please don't kill me, but I made you a sandwich. 59:52 Why would I kill you for making me a sandwich? Because, you know, you don't like me making you eat. But I thought you could save it for later. Thank you, Lily. 60:02 Oh, who's that? Harrison. Oh, is it? 60:05 Yeah. OK, will you say hi for me? I've really got to go. 60:08 Yeah, take care, please. And give my love to Vince. Will do. 60:12 Hi, Elizabeth. Hi. 60:15 Bye, Elizabeth. 60:17 Mum says hi. She wasn't being rude. Oh, I didn't think she was. She's just desperate to get back to the hospital. 60:23 Yeah. How is he? 60:25 They don't know. They just don't know. 60:29 Are you OK? 60:32 No. 60:32 Hey, hey. Sorry. 60:35 Oh, it's all right. It's all right. 60:37 It's really not. 60:39 Look at the orangery. It's red. 60:41 No, it's not. It's just... 60:42 I can't... get hold of anyone to come start quoting for repairs the loss adjuster is turning up in 10 minutes and um she's expecting my mum to be here we've we've had to cancel a conference a wedding and a 60th birthday party and that's just within the next three weeks freddie's stressed out the abattoir i'm trying to support my mum who's been quite weird this morning i'm terrified of her sinking into a depression and And I don't think I can deal with that again, because the last time it happened, it was just me running the whole show on my own, because Freddie was in prison, so... 61:17 Listen, listen, it's not going to be like that. 61:20 She's just told me that Loa Loxley is cursed. 61:23 Cursed? 61:23 Yeah, like nothing is worth it and everything is hopeless. Sweetheart. I'm just talking from experience, Harrison. 61:31 No, no, I know, I know you are and I'm not trying to undermine that, but look, if your mum does get ill, and I mean, I probably shouldn't say this, but you wouldn't be on your own this time because I'll be here. 61:45 That's very sweet. 61:46 I'm not saying it to be sweet. 61:49 I mean it. 61:51 If you want me, I'm here. 61:53 OK? 61:55 OK. Do you want a hug? 61:59 Yes, please. 62:05 Thank you. 62:06 You're welcome. 62:16 This is great. Me and you getting some time together. 62:19 We were only driving to the hospital to see the bin. 62:21 Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. I still can't believe you were planning to come to the wedding all along. I mean, we slagged you off so much. 62:29 Oh, that's nice. That's lovely. 62:31 What do you expect? We all thought you ditched us for a girl. 62:34 I wouldn't have missed your wedding, babe. 62:36 Well, except you did. 62:38 Only because the flight was delayed. 62:39 Well, yeah, but if you hadn't been cutting it so fine in the first place... It was going to be great. 62:43 It was going to be this real moment. 62:44 Oh, yeah? 62:45 Yeah. 62:47 which got, er, gazumped by the weather. 62:50 The storm stole your thunder. 62:52 Yeah, clever. 62:56 So you're definitely going back? 62:58 To Patagonia. 62:59 Where else? 63:00 Er, I think so. You don't sound sure. 63:04 It's weird being here. Makes Patagonia feel a bit unreal. Yeah, I can imagine that, actually. And then I kind of can't imagine going back. 63:16 Hey, Mum. You're still here? Oh, hi, Lily. Yeah. 63:20 Yeah, I decided to try and get a few bits done this morning before I went to see Vince. 63:24 Oh, that's good. 63:25 Yeah. 63:26 How are you? 63:28 I'm OK. 63:29 Listen, Lily, I'm really sorry about yesterday. 63:33 Oh, no, don't worry. It's fine. 63:35 No, it's not fine. 63:36 It is, it is. 63:37 I was just so low. 63:39 I know. 63:40 I haven't got anything left. 63:42 I could see that. 63:44 Anyway, I came home last night and I slept in my own bed. 63:46 Oh, that's good. 63:47 Yeah, I slept for ten hours straight. 63:49 That's brilliant. I'm so pleased because you really needed it. 63:55 I did. 63:56 And you were right. I'm sorry. I needed food, sleep, everything you were saying yesterday, only I just wouldn't have it. 64:05 I don't care. I'm just relieved that you seem so much better. Yeah. 64:11 Well, anyway, was Harrison OK? 64:14 Harrison? 64:15 Yeah, yesterday. He just turned up and I drove off. 64:17 Oh, yeah. No, he just came to see us, see what he could do to help. 64:22 Well, that was good of him. 64:23 Yeah. 64:24 He's been great, hasn't he? 64:26 Yeah, he has. He's... 64:30 He's so lovely, Mum. 64:33 What? 64:34 Your face. What? 64:37 You know what. 64:39 I like him. 64:40 I just, I really like him. 64:43 I know you do. 64:46 And I think he likes you too. 64:51 I still can't believe you and Stella had to leave your own wedding to come and shift a fallen tree. 64:55 I mean, we weren't going to just leave you there, were we? Not when we could do something. But it was your wedding. Well, that didn't matter. We still got married. 65:03 The marriage part happened, at least. 65:05 That's true. 65:06 And we got to eat the buffet before the chimney crashed through the orangery roof and covered it in glass. 65:10 Oh, that's sounding absolutely terrifying. 65:12 Yeah, I know. 65:13 I know. We weren't actually there for that. We were on our way to you lot with the tractor. 65:17 Chelsea and me, when we heard the ambulance couldn't reach us, it just felt so desperate. And then when we heard you two were coming to the rescue, we were, like, practically cheering. 65:27 All of you... All of you were amazing. I mean... 65:31 If you hadn't turned up when you did, Josh, I wouldn't be here, would I? Oh, come on, don't say that. But it's true. I mean, the medical professionals have said worse to that effect. 65:41 But, Vince, I've got to say, you look pretty good, all things considered. 65:46 Oh, Pip, you're a good liar. 65:48 No, honestly, I was expecting something much worse. 65:50 Oh, thanks. 65:51 Oh, sorry. 65:52 Yeah, meet my sister. She realised how to make a man feel good. 65:55 I'm sorry. 65:56 Yeah, that might have come out a bit wrong. 65:57 Do you think? 65:58 Me too. 65:59 What, or a nightmare? 66:00 No, you're hilarious. 66:03 We're not usually. 66:03 No, we're really not. No, but seriously, seriously, you two, I owe you. You owe us nothing. No, listen to me, I do. 66:14 I do, and if there's ever anything, anything at all I can do to help you out, Let me know. Vince, honestly. 66:19 We're just glad you're all right. 66:21 And the same goes for Chelsea. 66:23 Let her know. I'll tell her myself when I see her, but let her know, won't you? 66:27 Okay. Okay, Vince. Yeah, we will. We'll promise. 66:30 How is she? 66:31 Yeah, she's fine. She's absolutely fine. 66:33 Yeah, thanks to you, in fact. 66:34 Oh, I don't know about that. 66:35 No, Chelsea was really clear that actually, if anyone's a hero around here, it's you. 66:41 Well, she was very good, wasn't she? Very calm. 66:43 Yeah, she was. 66:45 Really looked after me. 66:47 You both did. 66:47 Well, we tried. 66:50 So, Pip. 66:52 Yeah? 66:53 When are you and Stella off on your honeymoon? 66:54 Oh, Monday. We're only going for five days because of Rosie. Of course, yeah. And where are you going? Iceland. The supermarket? Yeah, the supermarket. 67:03 I'm sorry, I couldn't help you. 67:04 No, it's all right, you're not the first. 67:06 See, I'm not even original. 67:08 No, no, no, that's not what I meant. 67:09 Ah, no, but... It's fantastic. I hope you have a brilliant time. 67:13 Hi. 67:15 Well, look who he is. Hi, Auntie Elizabeth. 67:18 How are you both? 67:19 Yeah, good, thanks. Yeah, we're good. 67:21 How's married life treating you? Oh, yeah, good. All five days of it. 67:26 Maybe we should get going, leave you in peace. Oh, you don't have to leave because I've arrived. Oh, no, well, I've got to pick Rosie up from school in a bit, so... Oh, thanks for coming. 67:35 No, of course. 67:37 I'll see you later, guys. 67:38 See you soon. 67:39 Bye, Vince. Bye. 67:42 Ah, it was nice of them to pop in. 67:44 Yeah. 67:46 How are you doing? 67:47 Not bad. 67:49 How about you? 67:50 Everything OK? 67:51 Yeah, absolutely. And there's no news, I suppose. 67:54 No news? 67:56 Oh, they're Pip's car keys. Oh, yeah, it must be. 68:02 He's so cheerful, isn't he? 68:04 Oh, he's brilliant. 68:05 Him and Elizabeth make such a great couple. Like, I never would have put them together, but it just works. 68:10 Yeah, it really does. 68:11 Pip? Oh, yeah? You left your car keys. Oh, I'm sorry. Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm an idiot. No, no, you've just got a lot on your mind. Well, thank you. 68:20 We were just saying, Vince seems amazing. 68:24 I'm not sure it's real. 68:26 What do you mean? 68:27 Well, I'm afraid it's just bravado. 68:29 But it's good, isn't it? Not if it's bravado, but if he's got a positive attitude. 68:35 Yeah, but we don't know what the situation is, do we? And what we're dealing with. 68:39 Well, then maybe it's good to hope for the best. At least until you know it. 68:44 Well, maybe it will all just come crashing down because he hasn't faced the possibility of significant injury. 68:50 I mean, we couldn't really get a handle on the medical situation. He didn't talk about it. 68:55 No, no, no, he doesn't want to. 68:57 Well, which is fair enough. I mean, why should he? Why should he talk to us? I mean... 69:02 Look, I'd better get back to him. I have this dread of the consultant coming to explain things to him when I'm not there. But they wouldn't do that, would they? 69:09 They'd make sure you were with him. 69:11 Well, yeah, you'd hope so, wouldn't you? 69:13 Oh, I know, I'm being silly. 69:15 No, no, you're not being silly. 69:16 Well, anyway, we're keeping you, sorry. No, it's OK. 69:19 I hope you get some good news today. 69:21 And let us know, yeah? 69:23 And let us know if there's anything we can do. 69:25 Thank you. And thank you both for coming. See you. 69:31 What are you doing now? 69:33 Me. 69:34 Who else would I be talking to? 69:36 Sorry. I was just thinking about Vince. 69:38 Do you want to come pick up Rosie from school with me? 69:43 You mean I could do? 69:45 She'd really love it if you did. 69:46 Then I will. 69:51 I don't think they're going to tell us anything, are they? 69:54 Not today, I mean. 69:55 I don't know. 69:57 It's nearly three on a Friday. 70:00 I've finally got it in my head now that it's a Friday. 70:03 It's been a very disorientating week. 70:07 It has. 70:11 Could you pass it to me? 70:14 It's Freddy. 70:15 Ah, he's a good lad. He shouldn't really be bothering you. He's not bothering me. He's doing a grand job, in fact. 70:22 That's good. It's good to hear. 70:23 Hmm. 70:27 Everything OK? 70:28 Yep. 70:29 Yep, all good. 70:29 Do you fancy a cup of tea? 70:34 I'm all right. I'm feeling a bit parched. It's so hot in here. Go and get yourself one. Do you mind? No, of course not. I don't like leaving you. 70:44 That'd be ridiculous. 70:46 Well, I don't. 70:48 Go and get yourself a cup of tea. And get a Kit Kat on me. 70:53 That's better. 70:55 You haven't cracked a smile all week, let alone a laugh. 70:59 Sorry. 71:01 I'm sorry. I'm just so worried about you. I know. 71:05 I know you are. 71:07 But I'm all right. 71:10 I'm alive, Elizabeth. 71:13 I really love you, Vince. 71:15 I really love you, too. 71:16 I can't get over Harrison and Lily. 71:22 I know. 71:23 I mean, Fallon and Harrison were like, You know, I don't know, they just seem so solid. 71:27 Yeah, I know. 71:28 I just feel bad for Fallon. 71:30 Oh, yeah, it's a difficult situation. 71:32 Yeah. 71:35 Rosie's going to be chuffed when she sees you here. 71:37 Oh, well, let's hope so. 71:39 Oh, I didn't tell you this thing. 71:42 What thing? 71:43 There's things she's telling everyone at school about you. 71:47 Oh, no, what? 71:48 No, no, no, no. It's brilliant. It's really funny. She told the teacher and all the kids and the head that you lifted a car off a dying man in the storm. 71:57 No. 71:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what her teacher told Stella yesterday. 72:02 I mean, now they're all going to look at me and think there's no way that skinny bloke can lift a car. 72:06 No, I mean, you're not as skinny as you used to be. 72:09 What are you saying? 72:11 You just look different. 72:13 In a good way or a bad way? 72:15 No, in a good way. OK. Yeah, I think everyone's just a bit like, wow. 72:21 Are you taking the mix? 72:22 No, I'm not, I'm not. I swear I'm alive. 72:24 But who? Who are we talking about? 72:28 He's everyone. 72:32 Sorry, Vince. There was such a long queue in the cafe that I nearly gave up on the tea. 72:36 That's fine. 72:38 Are you all right? 72:41 Not really, no. 72:43 What's wrong? What's happened? 72:46 The consultant just came round and he gave me the facts, as they say. 72:54 What does that mean? 72:56 Elizabeth. 72:59 What, Vince? What? 73:02 It's bad. 73:04 It's really bad. 73:07 It's maybe the worst news I could have got. 73:10 Well, tell me. 73:13 They're not sure. 73:16 They're not sure if I'll ever walk again. 73:24 That's what he said. 73:26 That's what he said. 73:50 Thank you. 74:20 Hello, I'm Alan Davis and I'm back on BBC Radio 4 to meddle with the universe on Life Without. I take one thing away and science tells me what I've broken. 74:30 They eat about 2,000 insects a night for a tiny bat. Like you just imagine the sky is going to fall off things which might want to eat you. 74:39 So keep bats noted. And for some of my guests, life without isn't a world I've invented. 74:45 I work with children with developmental amnesia who do have a life without memory. 74:50 Join me for Life Without to find out just how much chaos one missing thing can cause. Subscribe to Life Without on BBC Sounds. 75:01 This week on The Interface, millions of kids have grown up on camera with their childhoods turned into content. There's a new law in California that gives kinfluencers the right to be forgotten, and it could impact adults too. 75:11 And an attack on Russian data centers started a rumor that all the evil disinformation bots had been deleted from the internet. But the truth might actually be a lot scarier. 75:23 For our take, join me, Jess Maddox. 75:25 And me, Thomas Germain, for The Interface. 75:28 Listen on BBC.com or wherever you get your podcasts. 75:32 I founded the Ornota in 2013 and made a vestuario for cyclists. For me, the best part of Shopify is the possibility of a business even not having technical knowledge. We managed to manage everything from back-end to front-end and make online vendas, without complications. 75:47 If a Shopify was a cyclist equipment, I would say that it would be a bike. It's what allows us to get where we want. It's on Shopify that we manage our business. Comece your review on Shopify.com.
